At Trips Booking, we understand that plans can change. This Refund Policy explains your rights and options when cancelling or amending a booking made through us. Please read this page carefully before making a reservation.
General Overview
As an independent travel agency, Trips Booking acts as an intermediary between customers and travel suppliers such as airlines, hotels, and tour operators. Refunds are therefore governed primarily by the terms and conditions of the individual supplier at the time of booking. Trips Booking will always do its best to act on your behalf and secure the best possible outcome when a refund or amendment is required.
Cancellations by the Customer
If you wish to cancel a booking, you must notify us as soon as possible. Cancellation requests must be submitted in writing by email to Info@tripflight.co.uk and should include your full name, booking reference number, travel dates, and the reason for cancellation.
The refund amount you are entitled to will depend on the following factors:
- The type of booking made (flight, hotel, package, or other)
- The fare or rate type selected at the time of booking
- How far in advance the cancellation is made
- The cancellation policy of the relevant travel supplier
Trips Booking will review your request and communicate the supplier’s applicable cancellation terms to you before processing anything on your behalf.
Flight Refunds
Flight refunds are subject to the fare rules of the airline from which the ticket was purchased. Please note the following:
Refundable Fares — If you purchased a fully refundable flight ticket, you may be eligible for a full or partial refund depending on how far in advance you cancel and the airline’s specific conditions.
Non-Refundable Fares — Most promotional, budget, and standard economy fares are non-refundable once purchased. In these cases, a refund of the unused taxes and airport charges may still be available, as these are not retained by the airline.
Flight Changes — If you need to change your travel dates rather than cancel entirely, this may be possible subject to the airline’s amendment fees and any difference in fare. We will always advise you of the costs involved before proceeding.
Airline-Initiated Cancellations — If an airline cancels your flight, you are generally entitled to a full refund, a rerouting, or a rebooking at no extra cost under UK aviation consumer rights. Trips Booking will assist you in claiming your entitlement from the airline.
Hotel & Accommodation Refunds
Refunds for hotel and accommodation bookings depend on the rate type selected:
Flexible / Free Cancellation Rates — Bookings made on a flexible rate can typically be cancelled free of charge up to a specified number of days before the check-in date. The exact cancellation deadline will be confirmed at the time of booking.
Non-Refundable Rates — Bookings made at a non-refundable rate are not eligible for a refund under any circumstances, including illness, change of plans, or missed travel. We strongly advise taking out travel insurance to protect against unexpected events.
Partially Refundable Rates — Some hotels apply a sliding scale of cancellation charges depending on how close to the arrival date the cancellation is made. Full details will be provided before you confirm your booking.
Holiday Package Refunds
For holiday packages that include flights, accommodation, transfers, or other services bundled together, the following applies:
Cancellations made well in advance of the departure date may be eligible for a partial refund, less any non-refundable components and applicable cancellation fees. The closer to the departure date the cancellation is made, the higher the cancellation charge is likely to be. In most cases, cancellations made within 28 days of departure attract significant charges, and those made within 14 days or less may result in no refund being issued.
Full details of the cancellation schedule applicable to your specific package will be provided to you at the time of booking and included in your booking confirmation.
Non-Refundable Bookings
Certain bookings are non-refundable from the point of purchase. These may include but are not limited to:
- Promotional and sale fares
- Budget airline tickets
- Non-refundable hotel rates
- Last-minute bookings
- Certain package deals or group bookings
- Tickets for events, excursions, or experiences
Where a booking is non-refundable, this will be clearly communicated to you before you confirm your reservation. We always recommend reviewing the terms of your booking carefully before completing a purchase.
Amendments & Date Changes
If you would like to change your travel dates, passenger details, destination, or any other aspect of your booking rather than cancel it entirely, please contact us as soon as possible. Amendment fees may apply from both the supplier and Trips Booking. We will always inform you of any costs before making changes on your behalf.
Cancellations or Changes by the Supplier
Occasionally, travel suppliers may cancel, reschedule, or significantly change a booking. In such cases:
- We will notify you as soon as we are made aware of the change
- We will present you with the available options, which may include a full refund, rebooking, or an alternative arrangement
- We will act on your behalf to resolve the situation as quickly as possible
Trips Booking is not responsible for cancellations or changes made by suppliers but will always advocate for the best possible outcome for our customers.

To request a refund or cancellation, please contact us using the details below and provide the following information:
- Your full name
- Booking reference number
- Travel dates and destination
- Reason for cancellation or refund request
- Your preferred contact method for follow-up
Email: Info@tripflight.co.uk

We aim to acknowledge all refund requests within 1 to 2 business hours and will keep you updated throughout the process.
Refund Processing Time
Once a refund has been approved by the relevant supplier, the time taken for funds to reach you will depend on the payment method used and the supplier’s processing timelines. As a general guide:
- Credit or debit card refunds typically take 5 to 10 business days to appear on your statement
- Bank transfer refunds may take 3 to 7 business days
- Some airline refunds can take up to 4 to 8 weeks depending on the carrier
Trips Booking will follow up with suppliers on your behalf if a refund appears delayed beyond the expected timeframe.
Service Fees
Trips Booking may charge a service or administration fee for processing cancellations or amendments on your behalf. Where applicable, this fee will be disclosed to you before any action is taken. This fee is separate from any charges levied by the travel supplier.
Travel Insurance
Trips Booking strongly recommends that all customers purchase comprehensive travel insurance at the time of booking. A good travel insurance policy can protect you against cancellation costs, medical emergencies, travel delays, lost baggage, and many other unexpected events that may not qualify for a supplier refund.
If you have travel insurance and need to make a claim, Trips Booking can provide supporting documentation such as booking confirmations, payment receipts, and cancellation correspondence to assist your claim.
Changes to This Policy
Trips Booking reserves the right to update or amend this Refund Policy at any time. Any changes will be published on this page with a revised date. We encourage you to check this page regularly. Continued use of our services following any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
